Guided Walk/Hike – Waking Up from Winter

March 31, 2026 6-8 pm

Red Lion Greenway

Facilitator: Mary Patterson mary@marypatterson.com

Reg Fee $15

Join local naturalist to walk the Red Lion Greenway trail in this interpretive style hike. Observing the signs that nature is getting ready for spring season. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors after a period of hibernation. We will look for signs on trees and plants and in the landscape that warmth is on the way. This will be at a leisurely pace. Meet at the trailhead in town near the church.

This is an out and back hike over a mix of paved and gravel surfaces on a wide trail. Distance will cover a total of 2.4 miles. The trail has an elevation change of 217 ft mostly in the midpoint switchback area, the rest is fairly level. This event will be held rain or shine, cancellation/reschedule only if dangerous weather situation.

Sunset is at 7:29 pm and allows for the hike to be ending in twilight.

Bring drink or snack, any needed personal items. Dress appropriate for the weather, it may be much warmer at the start of the event than when ending, layers are great. Hiking poles are optional. Binoculars can be a great tool for observing wildlife. If desired can bring along a headlamp or small flashlight.

Service animals active or in training are welcome; however, please leave all pets at home.
