Camp information

It's time to register for camp! Here is the link but PLEASE READ the below information before you sign up. It is very important. Signing up for the program means you recognize these rules.

Red Lion Recreation will be having summer camp this year, but PLEASE read the following points of information.

Camp Dates: Monday, June 10, 2024– Friday, August 16, 2024  (no camp on July 4th). We are offering 10 weeks of camp this year. 

Camp Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm. If you are late to pickup,  there is an additional fee. 

Red Lion Recreation’s Summer camp is for kids ages 6-12. You do not need to live in Red Lion to attend!

1. Registration will be online this year

2. There WILL be a limited number of spots available for campers. We will have a waiting list in case someone would drop out 

3. There is no longer a daily rate. You must pay for an entire week no matter how many days attending. 

4. When you register, you must pay a registration fee of $25 to hold a spot for your child. This is due to the great demand for camp and to ensure that those who sign up will show up. This fee will be deducted from your first week's fee for camp.

5.Fees are as follows:

First child: 100

Second Child: 75

Third child: 65

All children must be related and live in the same household if claiming the multi-child discount. 

6. Fees must be paid each Friday before children will be permitted to attend the following week.

7. We will do lots of fun activities with each week having a different theme. We will not be taking a bus anywhere this year and any off-premise activities will have plenty of notification and will be within walking distance.

8. Each family will have to sign a behavior contract and it will be strongly enforced. Coming to camp is a privilege.

9. Ages accepted for camp are 6-12

10. I am unsure of the status of the pool this year so that is currently a maybe. If we are able to attend the pool at Red Lion High School, there is an additional fee of just a few dollars a week. 

11. We are offering a Counselor in Training Program for those ages 12-15 who have finished 6th grade. The cost of this program is $50/ week. There will be an application and not all will be accepted if there are a large amount. There will be mandatory training for a few hours the week prior to camp starting and each CIT will be assigned to a counselor.

Red Lion Recreation Camp Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) Information

Goal: Youth counselors will be provided with the opportunity to participate in a career/volunteer development program consisting of leadership and service activities. They will be given essential guidance and a support system that is designed to help youth examine the values inherent in human service, either as a career or a volunteer pursuit. 

Job Responsibilities: 

· Assist in providing a quality summer for our kids!

· Gain an overall knowledge of summer camp operations. 

· Attend training and orientation. 

· Arrive to work at scheduled time and communicate with supervisor when tardy or absent. 

· Follow RL Rec Dress code (appropriate and comfortable clothes)

· Treat each child with dignity and respect. 

· Provide general care and supervision of children and maintain safe and fun environment.

·  Enforce safety regulations. 

· Comply with the rules and regulations of RL Rec

· Interact cooperatively with peers, staff and director. 

· Provide support to youth, staff and families at all times.

· Display a positive “can do” attitude and genuine enthusiasm.

· Perform other appropriate duties as assigned or as needed.
